On April 1, 2025, in celebration of the 66th anniversary of Vietnam’s Fisheries Sector (April 1, 1959 – April 1, 2025), the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in collaboration with the Marine Conservation and Community Development Center (MCD), organized a ceremony to initiate the release of aquatic breeds aimed at restoring marine resources in the Ran Trao Marine Protected Area, Van Ninh District. The event, themed “Together for Ocean Protection – Building a Sustainable Future” attracted representatives from various entities within the Agriculture and Environment sectors, the People’s Committee of Van Ninh District, the Provincial Fisheries Association, and numerous enterprises in the fisheries industry.
Following the ceremony, delegates proceeded to the waters of the Ran Trao Marine Protected Area (Van Hung Commune, Van Ninh District) to release over 2.6 million juvenile aquatic species, including approximately 1.14 million black tiger shrimp, 1.4 million two-shelled clams, 10,000 babylonia snails, and various marine fish species such as barramundi, golden pompano, pearl grouper, and American red snapper. This marks the third consecutive year that such an initiative has been conducted at Ran Trao, contributing to the restoration of the marine ecosystem and the sustainable maintenance of aquatic resources.
