Ingredient:
100% Artemia cyst eggs.
How to incubate:
- Incubator: it is best to use a conical incubator. Sanitize after incubation.
- Salinity (S0/00) : 25 ppt – 30 ppt (25 – 30 0/00)
- Appropriate pH is from 8.5 – 9.2. Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) can be used to increase pH.
- Suitable temperature (t0C) is 300C (860F)
- Illumination : maintain strong illumination throughout the incubation period.
- During incubation, aeration must be made to keep the eggs above the water to prevent the eggs from sinking to the bottom of the incubator.
- Incubation density: 1 – 1.5g Artemia eggs/liter.
- Incubation time: within 24 hours.
- How to Harvest:
- To harvest larvae, stop aeration and light. Wait about 10-15 minutes, the eggshell will float on the water and Nau – Artemia will settle to the bottom of the tank. It is possible to use a water pipe or a Siphon hose to harvest Nau – Artemia from the bottom of the tank, the Nau – Artemia net must be very smooth, small in size (150 mesh) and clean with fresh water before feeding larvae. The amount of Nau – Artemia remaining after feeding must be stored at 4 – 100C within 24 hours.
Preservation
- Store in a cool, dry place, do not open the lid of the can when the ambient temperature is low (0 – 100oC).
- After opening the can, use up quickly.
